What You'll See at Frontier Homestead State Park Museum

Frontier Homestead State Park Museum details the history of the beginnings of Cedar City, Utah. When iron ore was discovered in the state in 1847, Brigham Young commissioned volunteers to colonize the area. An iron foundry was established, and the museum was established to honor and remember this history. It also includes archeological and Native Heritage exhibits.In addition to history exhibits, the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum also hosts other displays and events. See art exhibits, listen in on Children's Story Time, or participate in events like the Frontier Folk Festival while you're there.   • September-May: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday
  • June-August: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Sunday
  • Holiday Closures: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
Day Visits
  • $4.00 Per Person (over the age of 6)
  • $2.00 for Utah residents 62 and older
  • $2.00 for Iron County Residents (Free for Friends Group members)
  • $75 Annual State Park Pass is available at the museum
  • $35 Senior Adventure (annual) Pass
