About The 2024 Southern Utah Half Marathon

The Southern Utah Half Marathon is an annual 13.1-mile race that draws in runners of all ages with its unmatched blend of scenery and speed. This fast and fierce downhill course is known for showcasing some of the most stunning landscapes in the state. Runners begin at Highland Park as the sun rises over Zion National Park in the distance, casting a colorful glow over the day’s competition. The route winds quickly downhill through the streets of Washington to the scenic Virgin River Trail, which begins a gradual decline grade for the final 9 miles to the finish line at Bloomington Park in St. George.

The 2024 Southern Utah Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 7am. Registration costs $79 per entry and the first 500 runners to sign up will receive a free headband. (All participants will receive a branded race t-shirt and a souvenir rally towel.) Runners must register online by April 18, 2024 and pick up their race packet at the St. George Running Center on April 18th or 19th from 2pm to 7 pm. There will be no race-day registration or packet pick-up this year.

The race will begin promptly at 7am. American Flyers Race Pacers will be at the starting line to help with pace objectives and seeding. Runners will be shuttled from the finish line at Bloomington Park to the starting line between 5:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. Parking is available at Bloomington Park and Bloomington Elementary School. There will be no available parking at or near Highland Park. Runners who prefer not to shuttle may be dropped off at Highland Park in Washington City. The roadways in the area will close at 6:30 a.m., so plan to arrive early.

There will be six aid stations along the course with water and Gatorade available. There will also be convenient spots to cheer on your favorite runners along the route. Visit the race website for more information and details.

The race is chip-timed, and the finish line will close at 4 hours; finishing medals and awards will only be given to runners who complete the race under the time limit. Awards will be presented to the top 5 male and female finishers, as well as the top 3 finishers in multiple age categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. The awards ceremony will begin promptly at 10am.

Runners and their cheering squads are encouraged to remain at Bloomington Park after the race for the award ceremony and a post-race party with food and games.
