Bristlecone Cabin | Peaceful Brian Head Getaway for All Seasons

Very easy to rave about the home itself. Spacious, clean and well decorated. Kudos to the owner for a maintaining beautiful home. It was significantly more space than necessary for our family of 4 (two teens). Lots of open space in the back for the kids to play in the snow, large outdoor decks, fantastic views through the numerous windows and glass doors. Nice kitchen (with all essentials), good water pressure and clean/modern bathrooms. What was very lackluster were the mediocre or non-functioning amenities: 1. Hot tub didn't work 2. Fireplace (electric) didn't work 3. Thermostat was stuck at 95 (I was able to look up the model and figure out how to do a factory reset which prevented us from being cooked alive). 4. There are two TV's: one is a CRT 20+ yrs old that doesn't power on. The other is a monitor-sized Visio from the 1st generation of smart TVs (yes, it has Netflix, Prime and other apps ... but see #4 below before you get too excited) 4. INTERNET: it is not fiber and not high speed. This is a DSL connection which provided less than 1 mbps of download speed throughout the majority of the day/night and only intermittently peaked at 3mbps. It is useless if you need to send files, video conference or have the urge to watch a Netflix movie without the screen buffering every 3-5 minutes. We contacted Family Time multiple times and were told a tech would come take a look. Somebody definitely came into the home but there were no notes, nothing was repaired and we received no follow-up from Family Time. I just gave up as I did not want to spend my vacation dealing with it. Very disappointing, especially since this was our third booking with them. Bottom line, we wish the home had been advertised for exactly what it is: A beautiful house surrounded by open space just outside of Brianhead town. Perfect if you want to totally disconnect from your devices and movie streaming and don't have any work requirements which might require functioning internet. Sit in the large living room in front of a very nice fireplace that doesn't work, then retreat upstairs to the very comfortable master suite and imagine how nice it would be enjoying the bubbles in that huge hot tub. So yeah, we love the mountains, do plenty of off-the-grid getaways and make sure our kids don't spend their lives drooling over their devices. However, solitude and disconnecting WAS NOT the purpose of this trip. My wife and I wanted to relax, eat popcorn AND watch some shows. Unfortunately, it felt like we were placed into a foced solitude that wasn't expected or what we wanted. But at least it occurred in a beautiful home surrounded by natures finest.

This cabin is fantastic. It feels like you are all by yourself but only 2 min from town. The cabin was easy to check into and clean. Having two upstairs bedrooms with their own full bathrooms plus a full bath downstairs was perfect for us

This is not a 4 Seasons, nor does it claim to be. It is a very nice cabin with perfect access to Zion, Bryce and Cedar Breaks. It was clean and comfortable and the host was very responsive. I feel a value for the price
