Located in the valley between the Markagunt and Pausaugunt Plateaus, Panguitch Utah is home to some of the most majestic scenery on earth. A Native American Paiute word meaning “Big Fish,” Panquitch is undoubtedly named for the famously plentiful lake in the nearby mountains, hosting some of the largest rainbow trout in the state and ideal for year-round fishing.

In springtime, Panquitch hosts an Annual Quilt Walk Festival where local quilters display both hand-crafted and machine embroidered works of art, while local performers re-enact the story of Quilt Walk and food lovers highlight their culinary creativity with quintessential pioneer cuisine.

As the gentle warmth of spring fades and the lazy days of summer make their yearly entrance into the town of Panquitch, the city pulses with excitement as pilots launch a sky-full of hot air balloons into the heavens for the annual Panquitch Valley Balloon Rally. As night falls, spectators in the Historic Downtown area encounter the adventurous spirit of the town’s past, mixed in the magic of glowing hot air balloons as they parade up and down Main and Center Streets, like enormous planets waiting to be explored in the starlit sky.

Rodeos, concerts, horse racing, sports tournaments, conventions, and equestrian competitions are hosted at the Canyon Country Complex, the city’s new event center. This state of the art, Triple C Arena is located just off scenic highway 89.

July 24th is one of the town’s biggest celebrations. As the rest of the state pays tribute to the settling of the pioneers in Utah with an annual parade and fireworks, Panquitch commemorates this historic “homecoming” with reunions (family and class), a community breakfast, pit barbecue dinner, races, games, rodeo, and a city dance.

Summer isn’t the only time to enjoy activities in Panguitch. A New Year’s Eve party is held every year at the indoor Triple C Arena. The whole town comes out to celebrate and enjoy food, games and live entertainment. Ice fishermen can ring in the new year by participating in the Panguitch Lake “Big Fish” Derby. Beginning the first Saturday in January they vie for cash and other prizes by catching the largest fish.

For those desiring a more personal tribute to the early settlers of Panquitch, a historic cemetery awaits visitors just two miles east of the town on Highway 89. This hauntingly beautiful burial ground hosts tombstones dated as early as 1870.

Great location for exploring Bryce Canyon!

Great location for exploring Bryce Canyon! Internet was fast enough for two people to work remotely. Town is really cute and has everything you need.

Beautiful house and very helpful hosts

This is a beautiful little house in the perfect location. The host of the house provided laundry soap so we could do laundry and other little amenities to make our stay easy. We felt right at home and comfortable for our temporary stay. The check in and out was a breeze and host was easy to communicate with if we had any issues. The town is perfect with amazing mom and pop restaurants. It’s an excellent base camp for adventures into Bryce and Zion canyon and beyond. So glad we chose this location for our stay.

Fit all our needs

We had a lovely stay at Cozy Time Airbnb in Panguitch, UT. It had everything we needed, and was perfect for the two of us! It was a great location for our destinations: Bryce Canyon was a 30 min.drive and Zion National park was an hour drive. The quaint town had a nice grocery store, and some really good restaurants. Communication was a fast response. Thank you!

Definitely would come back

The Family Time House was cute, clean and had everything we needed. There is good parking at the house. The location is in the center of town, easy to get anywhere. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place

Great place and helpful hosts

This little house was exactly as described. Very clean. The kitchen was nicely equipped and while there are many good restaurants in town we were able to save money by cooking our own meals. There was plenty of off street parking for our two vehicles. It is well insulated so heating and cooling was not a problem. The beds were comfortable. Wifi was great. The neighborhood was quiet and well maintained. This is an older house, so take that into consideration if you are looking for upscale generic hotel rooms. Since we like the charm of old houses it was perfect for our needs. The host was extremely easy to work with, send clear instructions for check in and had reasonable "house rules." Just FYI, there is not a dishwasher but dish washing liquid and a drain board are provided. It is very convenient to Bryce canyon and about an hour's drive to Zion. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Great Place

We booked this on a Memorial Day trip to Bryce Canyon. It was absolutely one of the best Airbnb places we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at. The space was immaculate, the entire area was super walkable, and we didn’t have a single issue while we were there since we had everything we needed. Great place.

Great value

Simple, no frills, roof over our head. Budget friendly place to stay while we visited Bryce Canyon for a couple of days. A few details could have been been better - cobwebs in the windows and ceilings and the coffee pot was dirty. Beds were comfy and the space fit two adults and three kids just fine. Overall, for a short stay and low price it did the job and I’d recommend.
