Panguitch Lake
Community Information
With majestic scenery and surrounding wilderness, Panguitch offers each of its visitors a different experience. There are endless trails for hiking, biking and horseriding and Panguitch Lake, nestled in the mountains above the town, is home to Utahs tastiest trout year round. This is likely the reason Panguitch is a Native American Paiute word meaning Big Fish. Visit the nearby resort of Brian Head for excellent skiing and winter sports throughout the winter months and for a real taste of Southern Utah, take a scenic drive on Scenic Byway 143 and Scenic Byway 12, roads paved in history with the scenery of a desert paradise.
